How to enter

  1. 1
    Submit your application

Tell us what the project does, where it works, who it serves and what it has already changed. Measurable outcomes matter more than ambition.

  2. 2
    Run the 4-7-8-17 Navigator

Put your project through the AI Navigator at 47817.org. It shows where you already align with the Four-Way Test, the Areas of Focus, the Pillars of Positive Peace and the SDGs — and where a small change would add another. Then describe, in your application, what the tool helped you see.

  3. 3
    Upload your project content

A short intro video (YouTube is fine), project images, and any longer video you have. This is the material we use to build your feature page and press kit.

  4. 4
    Wait for your day

Honorees are released one per day so each gets undivided attention. If you are selected, you will know your reveal date in advance.

What we are looking for

Four-Way Test alignment

The single most important criterion. We look for partners whose values, culture and conduct reflect the Four-Way Test in how they operate, communicate and serve.

Service Above Self

A genuine commitment to serving others rather than self-promotion or institutional gain. Rotary’s network only works for those who share this.

Mission alignment

Projects should align with Rotary’s areas of focus: peace, disease prevention, water & sanitation, maternal & child health, education & literacy, economic development, and the environment.

Geographic fit & demonstrated impact

We prioritise countries and regions where we do not yet have active partnerships, and we look for measurable outcomes and a plan for lasting change.

Two partnership tracks

Track A — Rotarian & Rotary Club projects

A dedicated Newport Beach Rotary Committee Chair is assigned as your advocate. They champion your project, identify co-sponsoring clubs, assist with Global Grant strategy, make District and Action Group introductions, and invite you to present.

Track B — The Presidential Scholarship

For exceptional non-Rotary projects: a one-year NGO membership in the Rotary Club of Newport Beach – Global Service Club, plus partner club matching, speaker introductions, Rotary Action Group introductions, Global Grant training access and a seat at monthly Global Grant meetings.

Important — please read before applying

This program does not provide or guarantee funding, support or sponsorship of any kind. It is not a grant program. What it does offer is the tools, connections and platforms to strengthen your work and promote it to a much broader global audience. What you do with those tools is up to you.

Questions about your submission? Get in touch — the Rotary Club of Newport Beach Global Service Committee will get back to you.
